Ein Leben in Deutschland.

Gestern waren sie “Gastarbeiter-Kinder”, heute werden sie “Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund” genannt. Fünf Menschen mit spanischem Elternteil erzählen in diesem Dokumentarfilm über ihr Leben und Aufwachsen in Deutschland und wie diese Erfahrung ihre Sozialisation geprägt hat. Damit spricht die zweite Generation der spanischen “Gastarbeiter” auch über die aktuellen Debatten über Migration und Integration. Manche sind in Deutschland geboren, andere kamen erst im Kindesalter nach Deutschland. Sie sind in den verschiedensten Bereichen tätig und sind Beispiele für Bürger dieses Landes. Das heißt aber nicht, dass ihre Herkunft vergessen wird.

Antes se hacía refencia a ellos como «los hijos de inmigrantes», hoy su nueva denominación en Alemania es la de «personas con trasfondo migratorio». Cinco hijos de españoles, bien por ambas partes o sólo por parte de madre o de padre, nos cuentan cómo fueron sus experiencias como niños en Alemania y cómo estas experiencias marcaron su socialización. A su vez esta segunda generación de españoles en Alemania nos da su opinión entorno o a los debates sobre inmigración e integración de actualidad. Algunos han nacido aquí, otros vinieron con sus padres siendo aún pequeños. La película nos acerca a cinco ejemplos de ciudadanos y ciudadanas características a este país, aunque esto no implique necesariamente que se haya olvidado su procedencia.

In the past, they were considered to be «children of immigrant workers», today they are called «people with a migratory background». Five people, all of them with at least one Spanish parent, talk in this documentary about their growing-up and their lives in Germany. They tell us about how this experience has influenced their socialization. This second generation of Spanish «immigrant workers», share with us current debates on migration and integration. Some of them were born in Germany, others came to Germany in their early childhood. They work in a variety of fields and are good examples of citizens of this country. Nevertheless, their background is never being ignored.
